Bell Baxter High School Library Resources Centre [LRC]
This has been specifically to support the learning and teaching of pupils and staff within the school. The information contained within the pages of this site aim to encourage and support independent learning.

S3 Bell Baxter Book Award
The LRC and English department launched a joint initiative in the form of the inaugral S3 Bell Baxter Book Award. The award is being run in association with a local company, JEM Computer Systems.
All S3 pupils are currently judging the ten long listed titles in order to create a shortlist of titles to be announced in January 2009.

Author visits
The school will play host to two well known Scottish authors over the next couple of weeks. On Monday the 28th September we will be joined by Catherine MacPhail who will be speaking to our third year pupils. While Theresa Breslin will be in the school on Tuesday the 7th october to speak to our second year pupils.
Author visits are a valuable way of engaging with pupils, and staff, in terms of reading for persoanl enjoyment.
