Internet Safety - CEOPS New Parents’ and Carers’ Website
CEOPs are proud to announce that a Beta version of their new website for parents
and carers is now live - CEOP Parents’ website. The new site offers a completely
refreshed suite of articles and guidance on all aspects of child Internet safety.
Please take a moment to give CEOP some feedback by taking a look around the new site and then completing the user survey (this appears as a pop up when you visit). Your comments and ideas will help CEOP shape the final content and improve their resources and support to families.
Families can visit CEOP’s Parents’ site to access advice and support on how to keep children safe from sexual abuse, both online and off. Articles provide guidance on topics as diverse as: challenging harmful sexual attitudes and promoting positive behaviours; helping a child with autism negotiate life online; supporting a child who has been sexually abused; and dealing with a range of online issues such as sending nude ‘selfies’ and viewing pornography. Users will find films, downloadable guides and useful links to support organisations.
Families can also use the website to access the CEOP Safety Centre where they can report abuse and exploitation direct to CEOP.
Christmas Winners at Bell Baxter
Christmas came early for several Bell Baxter families, as winners of the Parents’ Evenings raffle organised by the Parent Council received their prizes. Top prize, a hamper brimming with festive goodies, was won by Marcus and Louise Dinsley, and a runner-up ‘pamper hamper’ was won by Katrine Voigt. Contributions for these hampers came from members of the Parent Council, Quaker Oats, and local supermarkets Tesco and The Co-op.
There were also several other smaller prizes donated by local businesses and were won by parents as follows: The Falconer Family (Royal Yacht Britannia passes); Jane Heppenstall (Maisie and Mac voucher); Liz Gibson (The Chamomile Room voucher); Leigh Sanderson (Howe of Fife Cafe voucher) and Nicola Stalker (Kettle Produce voucher).
Not to be overlooked, families of second and third year pupils, who have their parents’ evenings in February and March, will have their own raffle - with a chance to win a Scottish Hamper, as well as a varied selection of runner-up prizes.
The Parent Council thanks all parents and staff who participated in this year’s raffle, as well as the local businesses who donated such generous raffle prizes.
