It is with delight and a degree of trepidation that I accepted the post of Chairman of the first Bell Baxter High School Parent Council. The Parent Council is the new route between all stakeholders and the school and so it is important that all parents get involved at some level. The Parent Council is currently formed from some 20 parents and 5 co-opted members of school staff and importantly 2 members of the pupil’s council. It is planned to meet in the school at least once every term to discuss any topics raised by parents, the school and other associated individuals. Parents are welcome to come along to any of the meetings to hear the discussion and become aware of the current position on any matters of interest. For those who do not wish to come along the Bell Baxter HS website (www.bbhs-online.co.uk) has a dedicated section where information and minutes will be available for all to view. For those that are not able to view the website minutes will be available within the school and where possible will be circulated along other school information via the school newsletter. If there are any matters you wish to raise with the parent council you can email the Parent Council via (Bellbaxterhs.ParentCouncil@fife.gov.uk) or via the school either in writing or via the telephone.
The aim of the Parent Council is to try to “Make a Difference” but we can only do that with the help of the School, especially the Rector Philip Black but most importantly with the support of the parents. The council is there for you to make use of and to help improve your child’s education and well-being while at Bell Baxter HS. We ask that you to help us to achieve this in anyway you possible can.
Regards
Neil Millar
